Seattle & Eastside Housing Market Update [Feb. 2021]

Extremely low interest rates (under 3%) and a lack of housing inventory set the stage for an extremely competitive home buying market in Seattle and the Eastside in 2021. Multiple offers and escalating prices were again the norm in January and February, as they were throughout the second half of 2020.

Inventory dropped especially significantly for houses on the Eastside, by over 57%, with a corresponding uptick in median sale price of nearly 29%. 

Seattle condo inventory, on the other hand, was up by nearly 96% year-to-year in January.
